2014 will be the "100-Mile Wilderness edition" of Untamed New England, showcasing our destination partner the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC). This is the Maine central highlands, known for pristine waterways, dense forests, & extraordinary mountains.

Some have called this region "a chunk of Alaska placed in the northeastern US" and many claim this to be among the most remote corners of the contiguous US.

Our host resort for 2014 is Northern Outdoors, a partner to the first Eco-Challenge and a venue that distinguished itself at our 2012 race. This is a great hub for our race check-in and other formalities!

The 2014 Untamed New England will challenge teams on a rugged 4-day course including the activities of mountain biking, canoe paddling, trekking, whitewater rafing, packrafting, wilderness navigation, and more. The course will have an orienteering relay section, but otherwise teammates must travel together for the duration of the race.

Alpackaraft, Light & Motion, and Scott Sports are a few of our Discipline Partners for the race, meaning you can count on a course with intense packrafting sections, challenging trails through the day and night, and scenic summits.
